As the fouling layer's thermal conductivity is very low, the heat transfer resistance is greatly increased, and the heat transfer efficiency of plate heat exchanger is reduced to a certain extent. When a scaling layer is formed on the surface of the plate heat exchanger, the flow area of the equipment will be reduced, the resistance of the fluid flowing through the equipment will be increased, and unnecessary cost will be incurred.

The plates of the plate-type heat exchanger, although made of stainless steel, are highly resistant to corrosion, but they can be corroded if the water is high in chlorine ions. If the corrosion is carried out uniformly on the whole metal surface, the corrosion speed will not be accelerated, and the harm caused by corrosion will not be too great.If the corrosion is concentrated in a certain part of the metal surface, the corrosion speed will be accelerated and corrosion and penetration will easily occur, which will cause great harm. It will not only reduce the working efficiency of the equipment, but also greatly shorten the service life of the equipment and increase the maintenance cost.
